Sugo Restaurant and Tapas: Weekly Wine School by Region

Come join the Sugo family every Monday at Sugo John's Creek and Sugo Historic Roswell to taste and learn about your favorite wines from regions around the world. Regions will change bi-weekly so that you can taste and learn about different regions from all over the world. Your experience will start with a few tastes and end with in depth knowledge about the wine and region.

The wine tasting is $20 and includes a passing of tapas that pairs with three regional wines.

The wine tasting is from 6-8 pm. Each tasting of wine is accompanied by a detailed explanation of the wine. Schooling notes will include appellation, vintage and differentiating factors, grape selection, tasting notes, body and fullness, along with many other interesting facts about this specific wine. Tapas will be passed throughout the tasting so you can enjoy the delicious wine with our specialty Sugo tapas.

We are pleased to announce Sugo Restaurant & Tapas' Monthly Wine Dinner Series continues into 2010 with a Tuesday February 16th dinner featuring the outstanding wines of Cuore Rosso from Italy. Our guest speaker will be the founder of Cuore Rosso, Eros Spinozzi.

Mr. Spinozzi was born in Marche, a wonderful region on the center-east coast of Italy. A region that for its particular landscape has been revered for many centuries for its’ production of wine, olive oil, as well as meats, fresh seafood and vegetables.
I signed-up at the Italian Culinary Institute of Italy where I studied for 5 years. Talking about teachers, I must mention “The One” who was “The Teacher”, my uncle and mentor Eugenio Spinozzi (one of the pioneers of quality Italian wines imported in America). He brought to me the passion for the world of wines which he was enamored of, the same passion that in 1975 pushed him to get on a new adventure that everybody called utopic: to become importer of fine Italian wines. Uncle Eugenio made it. His company grew to the point that his wines were distributed in 35 States of the U.S. giving visibility to plenty of Italian labels. I have joined his “high quality mission” in 1994 when I decided to leave Italy and move to the States. Since then I was like his shadow, following him everywhere to learn as much as I could from is extraordinary experience.
In late 2003 he decided to go back to Italy definitively for personal reasons and I have followed him again. Then I decided, that was my time to start my own “high quality mission” and I have founded Cuorerosso (Red Heart) in January 2004 after 10 years spent in the U.S.A. with the motto “Capturing the vine’s hearthbeat” The memory of Eugenio gives passion, strength and will-power to Cuorerosso with it's portfolio as "essential" as it is complete.
The memory of Eugenio gives passion, strength and will-power to Cuorerosso with it's portfolio as "essential" as it is complete, in constant development and revising, in which Italy's most well known wine regions are represented. Cuorerosso produces it's own line of wines as well as being the ambassador for a group of small family owned wineries that represent the essence of the Italian world of wine. Worth to mention is the collaboration with Shaw-Ross International Importers. Cuorerosso is the official supplier of Italian Wines for the portfolio of Shaw-Ross.

The event is $49+ tax and gratuity, will include four wines paired with four dishes. Live entertainment provided by Michael Carlton King. Reservations will be taken on a first-come, first-serve basis, as this is a very special event and is sure to sell out!

Share the Love This Valentine’s Day at the Atlanta Opera and Help Roswell’s Crossroads North Second Chance School

Leadership North Fulton, a leadership training program run by the Greater North Fulton Chamber of Commerce, has a long-standing tradition of helping the North Fulton County, Georgia, area through its team service projects. This year, Team Second Chance has elected to assist Crossroads Second Chance North School (CRSCN) in developing its Learn and Serve school programs.

The primary objective of Team Second Chance (one of the Leadership North Fulton Class of 2010 service project teams, which consists of Susan Bucci, The Cottage School; Dawn Collier, Wachovia; Rita Evans, Merrill Lynch; Jerome Huff, Principal-Roswell North Elementary; and Brad Riffel, AEC, Inc.) will be to establish a foundation for the numerous student-oriented Learn and Serve Programs the students do within the community. The Learn and Serve program’s endeavor is to assist students who have been expelled from their local middle or high school programs by giving them a second chance. The student must successfully complete their academic classes and the Learn & Serve Programs at CRSCN. Successful students return to their home school ready to succeed in a traditional setting along with an understanding of the importance of community service. The CRSCN is a Fulton County School located on Mimosa Boulevard in Roswell, Georgia. The Learn and Serve program is funded by grants and local businesses. Through a unique fundraiser opportunity in partnership with the Atlanta Opera and Sugo Restaurant & Tapas, Crossroads Second Chance North School and Team Second Chance invite you to join them for a night of great food and great music to benefit this worthy cause.

Come celebrate The Atlanta Opera's presentation of AIDA by Giuseppe Verde, at Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre, on opening night February 27, 2010. All ticket sales will benefit the students and service learning projects at Crossroads Second Chance North, a Fulton County School Program. A wonderful night has been planned to allow networking among local businesses while enjoying a special menu provided at SUGO Restaurant and Tappas' North Roswell/Crossville Road location.
