Sugo Restaurant & Tapas' Monthly Wine Dinner Series continues featuring the cult wines of
Madrigal Vineyards of Napa, California.
Our guest speaker will be Winemaker - Chris Madrigal
Since the late 1930's, three generations of the Madrigal family have farmed the vineyards of the Napa Valley. Their family history is a constant source of inspiration and something that guides them in their winemaking. They value the long relationship they've had with the land and people in the Napa Valley, believing that the combined wisdom of the folks who have lived there for generations and a deep appreciation of those vineyards can be tasted in their wine.
They successfully run a vineyard management company that supplies grapes for ultra-premium vineyards Clos Pegase, Duckhorn, and Lewis. However, in 1995, Jess and his three sons, Chris, Matthew, and Michael, decided to use those years of experience in fulfilling their life-long dream of producing their own limited production wine - Madrigal Vineyards was born!
Madrigal Vineyards owns vineyard land in the historic Larkmead District of the Napa Valley (half-way between Calistoga and St. Helena.) Their simple formula is: great fruit, gentle handling, and aging in the finest American and French oak produces great wine!
The event is $60 plus tax and gratuity and includes 5 wines paired with 5 dishes.

Grecian Beef Tenderloin Involtini - Beef Tenderloin lightly breaded dressed with our Greek vinaigrette and stuffed with goat cheese and caramelized shallots. The beef tenderloin is then rolled and baked and served with a porcini mushroom cognac sauce.
Cappesante al Sugo - Wild caught Carolina White Jumbo Shrimp wrapped with smoked salmon, caramelized shallots, marscapone cheese, and cream cheese alongside seared Maine Diver Scallops dressed with red pepper pesto. Served with grilled Italian peppers dressed with walnut pesto and roasted yellow tomatoes over mixed field greens topped with white asparagus.
Moscatel Filet - 14oz. beef tenderloin grilled and served atop braised pork, caramelized fennel and shallots, then dressed with chopped bacon, dates, and manchego cheese. Accompanied by two beer battered stuffed piquillo peppers and finished with a muscatel wine reduction.
Tre Venezie Mixed Grill - Grilled Duck Breast, Beef Sirloin, and Italian slow roasted Porchetta dressed with a blood orange balsamic glaze and griottes cherries braised in cognac. Served with fresh arugala, caramelized shallots, grilled zucchini, and barrel aged feta cheese.
Veal Porterhouse (14oz.) - Veal Porterhouse grilled and dressed with a Pomegranate balsamic reduction. Served atop a bed of Greek grape leaves and Piquillo peppers. Accompanied by radiatorri pasta tossed in a red pepper pesto cream sauce.
